COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS
*Backpacks and Beyond (ALL YEAR)-
Students will participate in food drives in the fall and spring to assist our community's student food assistance program. This program provides food for students to take home with them every weekend and holiday when they are not in school and may not receive enough to eat at home.
* LHS Toys for Kids Program-
Students will raise money that will be used to purchase coats, shoes, clothing, and food for our students in need at Christmas. The BETA Club has partnered with local churches to meet this increasing need in our community. Students will wrap all of the gifts and fill food boxes for each family.
*Blood Drive-
Students, faculty, and community members will participate in the LHS blood drive in the spring.
*Student of the Quarter-
BETA Club, Key Club, and the SGA will sponsor our Student of the Quarter recognition ceremonies throughout the school year. We will provide honor roll ribbons, goody bags, and prizes for our nominees and winners. Officers from each club will direct the ceremony and distribute items to all students who are recognized.
*LHS Field Day-
The BETA club will partner with the SGA and Key club to provide fun activities, food, and competitions for students Pre-K-12th grade during the month of May. All proceeds raised during Field Day will be used to purchase items that will help promote student achievement, upgrade technology, and provide for other needs for our students and school.
* Volunteer Service -
Members must accumulate 50 or more service hours per school year. Members volunteer their time and efforts at our elementary school's Harvest Festival, community events and serve and assist teachers at school on a daily basis.
*Scholarship Opportunities
The LHS Beta Club and Key Club have joined together since 2020 to sponsor at least one or more cash scholarships for seniors at LHS who have shown academic excellence, leadership qualities, and participated in community service events.
